Synopsis

Joe McConaughy stands at the starting line of the Barkley Marathons, a race notorious for its brutal conditions. Spanning over 100 miles of rugged terrain, the course features twice the elevation gain of climbing and descending Mount Everest. In its 38-year history, only 15 runners have completed the challenge. Despite the odds, hundreds apply each year. The film follows McConaughy's first attempt, alongside fellow competitors Aurélien Sanchez, John Kelly, Karel Sabbe, Damian Hall, Jared Campbell, and Jasmin Paris.
