Synopsis
Marie Seton acquired footage from Upton Sinclair and his wife in 1940, aiming to create a new version of Sergei Eisenstein's unfinished film project, "Que Viva Mexico." Eisenstein shot over 200,000 feet of film in Mexico between 1931 and 1932, but the project stalled due to funding issues and Stalin's order for his return to the USSR. The first attempt to edit the footage resulted in "Thunder Over Mexico," released in 1934. Seton's effort to reassemble the material followed Eisenstein's skeletal outline for the film. This version has since been lost.
