Tijuana, the American Border: the End of the American Dream

Synopsis

Every year, over 100,000 Mexicans living in the USA are deported to Mexico, often after spending decades in America. Many of these individuals have built lives, worked, paid taxes, and started families, with some unable to even speak Spanish. In a matter of days, they find themselves separated from their children and loved ones, escorted across the border without the ability to return or appeal their deportation. Tijuana, a border town, becomes an airlock between two worlds, where the broken lives of migrants converge. This documentary highlights the harsh realities faced by those affected by deportation and the impact on families and communities.
