Synopsis

Conrad Shawcross stands in his studio, surrounded by mechanical sculptures that blend science and philosophy. His works, such as The Nervous System (2002) and Continuum (2004), challenge traditional notions of function and meaning. The Nervous System features a spinning machine that weaves colored rope into a double helix shape, while Continuum presents a giant spiral. Shawcross's art prompts reflections on complex human concerns, particularly the nature of time and existence. The film runs for 26 minutes and was released in 2008.
