The Weavers

Synopsis

Vlasti, a mountainous village in Northern Greece, became the site of a model weaving center established by the Swedish humanitarian organization IM in 1963. Over the next 25 years, this initiative provided local women with skills and opportunities, while also revitalizing a community affected by wars and poverty. The film reflects on the center's impact and the challenges facing the Greek countryside, offering a bittersweet perspective on a significant chapter in the village's history.
