Synopsis
Veronika Lišková, a Czech social anthropologist, relocates to Longyearbyen, the northernmost city in the world, with her family. They settle in the most populated area of the Svalbard archipelago, where Lišková observes the effects of a declining mining industry on the community. The film documents interactions among Norwegian residents, foreign immigrants, and tourists, while also addressing the impacts of climate change, including melting mountains and avalanches that threaten the town's inhabitants.
