In northern Khorasan, four women gather to play the tar, a traditional string instrument. One woman recalls her imprisonment for defending her husband, only to find he has remarried upon her return. As they navigate social prejudice and segregation, each woman reflects on how music shapes their lives. The film captures their stories and the role of the tar in providing solace amid daily struggles. Directed by Mohammad Hassan Damanzan, "The Songbird" runs for 52 minutes and features dialogue in Kurdish and Persian.
