Qaem collects plant samples on the stony mountainside of Tehran. He seeks new spiritual paths after struggling with thoughts of ending his life. Each day, he tends to the plants he hopes to grow in the harsh environment. Directed by Hamid Jafari, known for his award-winning short film The Rock, The Leaves runs for 37 minutes and intertwines themes of history, music, and religion.
