Granny Grommets, a vibrant group of women over 50, redefine the surfing experience in Albany, Western Australia. Formed in 1999, this community embraces the ocean with enthusiasm, bodyboards in hand, regardless of age or the concerns of their families. Each Friday morning, nearly 90 members gather to ride the waves, adhering to three simple rules: be over 50, complete an ocean awareness course, and have fun. Leah Rustomjee's award-winning short film highlights their fearless spirit and camaraderie.
