Synopsis

Sgt. Dan Hefel recounts his experience as one of the last 19 prisoners of war to return from Vietnam. After serving as an infantry grunt, he took on the role of sergeant gunner, believing it to be a prestigious assignment. His fate changed dramatically when the helicopter he was aboard crashed. The crew, initially classified as missing in action, became captives. The documentary details the personal struggles faced by Hefel and his fellow POWs during their time in captivity.
