Synopsis

Lisbon was the center of a major political change in Portugal in 1974. The Carnation Revolution, or Revolução dos Cravos, involved a largely bloodless coup. It ended a dictatorship that had lasted for almost 50 years. Citizens took to the streets, marking a new era for the country. After a short period of chaos, Portugal transitioned to democracy. Director Anne Kjersti Bjørn provides an account of these historical events in a 51-minute documentary released in 2024.
