Dzhamshed returns to Tajikistan as Russia's economic crisis forces many Tajiks home.

Synopsis

Russia's economic crisis forces thousands of Tajiks to return to Tajikistan, where they face poverty and hopelessness. Dzhamshed, a migrant worker, spent many years in Russia working on construction sites to support his wife and four children. However, with the tightening of immigration laws in Russia, many migrant workers like Dzhamshed are no longer welcome. As a result, he returns to his home country along with hundreds of thousands of fellow Tajiks. In Tajikistan, life becomes a struggle for survival, as they confront unemployment and a lack of opportunities.
