Synopsis

Hamilton, known as the Pittsburgh or Birmingham of Canada, serves as a focal point for examining the impact of its steel industry. The documentary highlights the city's extensive complex of furnaces and rolling mills, set against the backdrop of Lake Ontario, the Niagara Escarpment, and surrounding fruit farms. Through various day and night scenes, the film illustrates how the operations of the steel mills shape the lives of Hamilton's residents and the local environment. Directed by Wolf Koenig and Rex Tasker, "Steeltown" was released in 1966 and runs for 55 minutes.
