Synopsis

Olivier Cavé plays the Steinway Concert D 542016 at The Phillips Collection in Washington, D.C. The piano, used in concerts since 1941, has developed issues with its soundboard. "Sitka: A Piano Documentary" details the restoration process, featuring the craftsmanship of PianoCraft as technicians dismantle and rebuild the instrument. The film also explains the mechanics of piano operation, culminating in Cavé's performance of Joseph Haydn. Independent filmmaker H. Paul Moon directs this 30-minute documentary.
