Synopsis

Great white sharks are known for their predatory skills, but their behavior outside of hunting remains largely unexplored. Scientist Ryan Johnson conducted a six-year study in Mossel Bay, South Africa, revealing significant insights into the lives of these sharks. This bay hosts one of the largest resident populations of great white sharks globally and serves as one of only two known nursery sites. Notably, Johnson discovered that these sharks engage in seal hunting primarily at night, challenging previous assumptions about their hunting patterns.
