Seni's Children

Synopsis

Seni Camara works in her village of Bigona, located in the Casamance region of southern Senegal. She creates unique clay sculptures, claiming a divine inspiration for her art. While local traditions focus on practical pottery, Seni's imaginative forms challenge these norms. The film documents her process, showing her and her husband as they prepare clay by mixing dirt, water, and sand. They also gather wild nuts for dyeing the finished pieces, which are then fired to complete the sculptures.
