Synopsis
Pavavalung Sakuliu, an indigenous artist, works to revive the Paiwan culture in Taiwan. His efforts come in response to the threats posed by modern economic changes initiated by the Japanese colonial government in 1895 and later by the Nationalist government after 1945. Over 75 minutes, the film documents Sakuliu's dedication to preserving traditional practices and beliefs that have been endangered for over a century. The narrative unfolds against the backdrop of Taiwan's complex history and cultural shifts.
