A mile-long coal train travels through eastern Wyoming, accompanied by President Dwight D. Eisenhower's speech on the military-industrial complex. "RR," directed by James Benning, consists of 216 shots that capture the movement and sounds of trains across the United States. The film features 43 sequences that reflect on the role of trains in American economic development. Released in 2007, it marks Benning's final work in 16mm film and connects to themes from his earlier piece, "The United States of America" (1975).
