Synopsis

Elliott, diagnosed with brain cancer, faces significant challenges in his education after missing a large amount of school during year 7. He spends nine months undergoing surgeries and treatment, which affects his mobility. To combat his isolation and help him stay connected with friends, a robot is introduced as a solution for remote learning. This robot allows Elliott to participate in lessons and maintain friendships despite his hospital stays. The initiative begins after extensive interviews with hospitals and organizations that support children with long-term illnesses. The team learns that many children, like Elliott, need a way to engage with their education and peers while dealing with their health issues. As Elliott gradually returns to school, the use of the robot expands to assist other children facing similar challenges, demonstrating the potential of technology in education and social connection.
