Refugees stranded in Greece

Synopsis

The refugee camps in Greece are hopelessly overcrowded, with many refugees suffering from illness and trauma. Government agencies struggle to manage the overwhelming number of individuals, particularly unaccompanied minors who face dire conditions. On Samos, the camp houses three times as many refugees as it was designed for, leading to increased incidents of suicide, violence, and sexual harassment. The lack of hygiene and prospects for a better future exacerbates the already critical situation. Despite the closure of the Balkan route, new refugees continue to arrive daily, compounding the crisis in these camps.
