Public Enemy Number One

Synopsis

Wilfred Burchett, an Australian journalist, reported on the Vietnam War from the North Vietnamese perspective. His coverage led to accusations of treachery in the Australian media. Burchett was also the first journalist to enter Hiroshima after the atomic bombing. Filmmaker David Bradbury interviews Burchett in his later years, interspersing the conversation with archival footage and photographs. The documentary includes newsreel footage of Burchett and scenes from the Vietnam War, as well as images of Hiroshima's aftermath.
