Puerto el Triunfo hosted 1,500 organized workers in the 1970s, most of whom were women. Their labor made them some of the more privileged workers in the country. State repression soon targeted union leaders, either exiling them or eliminating them altogether. By 1990, the industry collapsed. This documentary details the rise and fall of labor in Puerto el Triunfo, set against the backdrop of neoliberal policies in El Salvador.
