Synopsis

São Paulo's metallurgical industry was a center of labor activism in the late 1970s. In 1979 and 1980, 21 workers organized strikes that changed union politics in Brazil. Their actions helped establish the Worker’s Party and brought union leader Luís Inácio Lula da Silva into the national spotlight. Personal stories from these workers reveal their struggles and achievements during a critical time in Brazil's labor movement. The documentary runs for 85 minutes and was directed by Cristiana Grumbach.
