Synopsis
Xue, a single mother, travels every three months from Hong Kong to her hometown in Fujian, China. She carries her child in one arm and drags heavy luggage with the other. Since her family migrated to Hong Kong when she was eight, she must extend her visiting visa to stay with them. In the 1980s, local government policies allowed her family to migrate, but only one child could remain behind, leading to a cycle of separation and financial support.
