Monk Sunwoo lives at Baekheung-am Temple, a secluded Buddhist nun temple in South Korea that opens only twice a year. She lost her parents at a young age and questions her commitment to monastic life. Monk Sangwook, who transitioned from a Buddhist priest to a professor, faces pressure from her mother to reconsider her choices. An elderly master reflects on her 40 years of training and the meaning of her life. The film documents the personal struggles of these women within a conservative religious environment.
