Deirdre, now in her early sixties, worries about her son Richard's future. Born with a complex disability, Richard requires 24-hour care. Filmmaker Andrew Wiseman began documenting Richard and his family in 1989, producing Driving with Richard in 1992 and Wonder Boy in 2001. On Richard's Side, completed in 2016, captures Deirdre's efforts to create a support network for Richard and secure long-term accommodation. The film reflects the challenges of lifelong caregiving.
