Burzet, a remote village in the Ardèche region, hosts a Good Friday ceremony that has taken place for over seven hundred years. Each year since 1980, Gérard Courant has filmed this event, which reenacts the Passion of Christ. Local residents dress in period costumes to commemorate this religious rite. The documentary captures the rituals and community involvement that sustain this tradition in the village. The film runs for 32 minutes and was released in 2022.
