Synopsis

Chris Bertish stands on the towering surf of Mavericks in California, preparing for the biggest challenge of his career. In 2010, the South African big wave surfer competed in a premier surfing competition. He faced significant obstacles, including a near-drowning experience. Bertish won the event, riding some of the largest waves in Mavericks' history. Ocean Driven tells the story of his determination and the support of fellow surfers and ocean specialists along the way. The documentary runs for 55 minutes and was released in 2017.
