Synopsis
LIU Ruo-yu left Taiwan in 1984 to study acting under Jerzy Grotowski in the United States. Upon returning to Taiwan, he founded U Theatre in 1988. The company incorporated traditional skills such as Tai Chi, drumming, and Taoist rituals, developed through rigorous physical training and meditation. In 1998, U Theatre performed Sound Of The Ocean at the Avignon Festival in France. Now, more than 30 years after its founding, the documentary questions the future direction of U Theatre.
