Synopsis
In New York's Chinatown, elementary school students prepare for a theatrical production that reflects their cultural heritage. As they rehearse, they face familial expectations and the challenges of graduation. The performance allows them to connect with their Chinese roots while participating in American theater. Through their experiences on stage, the students navigate personal identity and family dynamics. Directed by Tong Hui, "Curtain Up." runs for 69 minutes and features dialogue in Mandarin and English.
