Synopsis

Muslim School provides a controversial insight into a British Islamic school for girls. The documentary follows Aysha, a 12-year-old girl, as she becomes the only white student at Islamia Secondary, a girls-only school. Over the course of a year, Aysha and her classmates navigate their new environment, which includes the standard national curriculum alongside Islamic Studies, Urdu, Arabic, and readings of Islamic Scripture. The film highlights the challenges and experiences of these young girls as they transition from their previous multi-ethnic schools to a predominantly Islamic setting, raising questions about integration and identity in contemporary Britain.
