Synopsis

In Toronto, a group of Canadian Latvian immigrants gathers to preserve their cultural heritage through folk dance. Known as 'Daugaviņa,' this community spans multiple generations. As they prepare for the 150th Latvian Nationwide Song and Dance Festival in Riga, Latvia, they rehearse not just steps but the rhythms of their ancestors. The festival, one of the largest cultural events globally, draws nearly three times the participants of the Olympic Games, offering a significant homecoming for many dancers.
