Synopsis

In Warri, Nigeria, John Togo leads a group of pirates targeting oil companies like Shell and Chevron. Armed with Kalashnikovs and rocket launchers, they carry out attacks on drilling platforms, kidnapping expatriates for ransom. In 2015, these pirates executed 73 attacks, resulting in the abduction of 62 individuals. They claim to fight against the exploitation of Nigeria's oil wealth, which they argue benefits only foreign corporations. Their actions reflect the ongoing crisis of piracy in the Niger Delta, where poverty and corruption persist.
