Synopsis
In 2010, the Danish shipping vessel CEC Future was seized by Somali pirates in the Indian Ocean. "Stolen Seas" features real audio recordings and video footage from the tense hostage negotiation that followed. The documentary presents the experiences of the crew held captive and the dangers faced by maritime workers. It details the interactions between pirates and their captives, revealing the challenges of negotiating for their release. Directed by Thymaya Payne, the film runs for 90 minutes.
