Synopsis

Mitra Kadivar, an Iranian psychoanalyst, is involuntarily committed to a psychiatric hospital in Tehran during the winter of 2012. While confined, she begins an email correspondence with Jacques-Alain Miller, founder of the World Association of Psychoanalysis. Their exchanges provide Mitra with support as she faces her circumstances. By the summer of 2017, an artistic team draws from these communications to create an opera, immersing themselves in the Montperrin psychiatric hospital in Aix-en-Provence to blend Mitra's experiences with artistic expression.
