Meet the Sloths

Synopsis

Five sloths at the Aviarios Sloth Sanctuary in Costa Rica navigate the challenges of life in captivity over the course of a year. Filmmaker Lucy Cooke documents their stories, including the struggles of orphaned baby sloth twins, an injured male named Randy dealing with unfulfilled desires, and the sanctuary's oldest resident, who has reached the age of 20. Through these narratives, the film provides insight into the complexities of sloth care and the unique behaviors of these often-misunderstood animals.
