Elisabeth Thieriot travels through the jungles of the Yucatan Peninsula and Guatemala to confront the myths surrounding the December 21, 2012 end-of-the-world theories linked to the Mayan calendar. Central to her investigation is the concept of B'aqtun, a 3,300-year cycle significant to the Mayans. Thieriot engages with living Mayan descendants, known as Abuelos, who share their insights on time and earth science.
