Synopsis
Nadia Mykytivna, 82, from the village of Kriachkivka, continues a fading tradition of Ukrainian folk music. She has sung with the Drevo folk ensemble for 58 years and is the last original member. Musicians from around the world visit her to learn these traditional songs, which once accompanied life events from birth to death. In the United States, another Nadia, inspired by her visit to Kriachkivka, creates an autobiographical theatrical monologue titled The Broken.
