Synopsis

Giannis Anastasiadis leaves the village of Aydoğdu in Pontus at the end of 1919, fleeing a region torn by conflict. His father has died in forced labor camps, and his sisters, Kerekia and Victoria, succumb to typhus. Separated from his brother Isaac, Giannis moves to Greece but continues to search for him, sending letters over the decades. A Turkish Wali eventually delivers one of Giannis's letters, paving the way for a reunion after more than 60 years apart.
