Just Another Missing Kid

Synopsis

Eric Wilson, a 19-year-old from Ottawa, left for Boulder, Colorado, on July 10, 1978. Four days later, he vanished in Nebraska. His family struggled to persuade local and U.S. police that he was not a runaway. They hired a private investigator to aid in the search. The film documents their efforts and the challenges posed by a slow-moving legal system. Raymond Hatch and Bertram Davis, two hitchhikers Wilson picked up, later confessed to his murder. The documentary won an Academy Award in 1983.
