Jeff Carroll, a US Army veteran and Huntington's disease researcher, learns about his family's genetic history while considering fatherhood. He undergoes predictive testing at the Centre for Molecular Medicine and Therapeutics in Vancouver, where he discovers he carries the gene for the disease. Alongside Carroll, Dr. John Roder, a cancer specialist, and Theresa Monahan, an early test subject, share their experiences with the emotional and ethical dilemmas of genetic testing.
