Synopsis

Abraham Jiménez, a prominent figure in Cuban independent journalism, faces increasing pressure from the Cuban government as he and his wife, producer Claudia Calviño, prepare for the arrival of their child. Exhausted and disheartened, the couple decides to leave Cuba and seek political asylum in Spain. "Isla Familia" offers an intimate portrayal of their daily struggles and the lengths they go to in order to secure their freedom and future. The film runs for 85 minutes and was released in 2024.
