Synopsis
In Chittagong, Bangladesh, 21-year-old Belal works alongside 20,000 others dismantling old ships for $2 a day. Each year, an average of 20 workers die due to hazardous conditions filled with toxic gases. The film follows Belal, 32-year veteran Gascutter Rufik, and 12-year-old Ekramul, a child laborer. Their stories reveal the dangers and struggles faced in the ship-breaking industry, where many see the vessels as 'gifts from God.' The documentary captures the stark realities of this labor-intensive work.
