Synopsis

Danuta Siedzikówna, known as Inka, faced immense loss during World War II. Her mother was murdered by the Gestapo in Bialystok in 1943, and her father died in Tehran after escaping a Soviet gulag. Raised by her grandmother, Inka became an AK nurse. She was sentenced to death for her involvement with Major Szendzielarz's unit, which operated under the Polish government in exile. False testimony from militiamen contributed to her conviction. In a secret message, she reassured her grandmother, stating, "Tell my grandmother that I behaved as I should.
