Human vs Elephant

Synopsis

Karya Indah, a village in Riau Province, faces daily conflicts with wild Sumatran elephants. As oil mining, infrastructure, and settlements have cleared much of the elephants' habitat, the animals venture into populated areas. They damage plantations and homes, leading to losses and casualties for residents. The struggle between the community and the elephants has intensified, reflecting the challenges of coexistence in a rapidly changing environment. Directed by Afif Fahmi, this 25-minute documentary captures the ongoing tensions in this region.
