Synopsis

Safia, a Muslim woman from Bhopal, trains to become a Qazi, a role traditionally held by men. For four years, she challenges the interpretations of Sharia law that she believes limit women's rights. Several other women join her in this program. They confront the practice of triple talaq, which allows men to divorce instantly. The documentary shows their struggle against restricting voices within their communities and external political interests that seek to co-opt their fight for justice.
