Synopsis

Melita Abele, at 89 years old, retraces her path as a refugee from Latvia in 1944. At just 14, she fled her home in the winter, seeking shelter from strangers and spending nights in the woods. The film, directed by Lauris Abele and cinematographer Marcis Abele, uses animation to illustrate Melita's memories. It connects her past experiences with present-day Latvia, culminating in her long-held goal that has remained unfulfilled for 75 years.
