Synopsis

Anna Smeets returns to her Limburg village after the unexpected death of her mother. She moves into her mother's studio near Galgenven, intending to create photographs inspired by her mother's paintings of the village and its surroundings. As Anna seeks to reconnect with her identity, she faces opposition from landowner Hyacint de Beaumont, who plans to develop part of the local nature. The village becomes divided over the issue, and Anna finds unexpected allies in her struggle, leading to dramatic outcomes.
