In Greek mythology, the Heliades, daughters of Helios and Clymene, mourn the death of their brother Phaëthon. The Heliades grieve for four months, and in their sorrow, the gods transform them into poplar trees. Their tears become amber, which falls into the river Eridanos, where Phaëthon perished.
