Synopsis
Fengjiang, a town in southern Shanghai, receives vast amounts of metallic and electronic waste from around the world. For over twenty years, about 50,000 migrant workers, known as "green soldiers," dismantle nearly 2 million tons of this waste each year. They cut, split, and recycle materials using basic tools. Many face dangerous working conditions and precarious lives as they manage the growing heaps of discarded metal.
